As part of DCC's ongoing investigations and efforts to identify cost beneficial solutions to the flood issues experienced in the village, they are planning to undertake an extensive topographical survey of the watercourse as it runs through the village. This will take place during week commencing 30 September 2024. The results will be used to allow DCC to build a computer model of the watercourse so they can simulate flows through the catchment and also test potential solutions to reduce the risk. A letter has been delivered to properties backing on to the watercourse:

Devon County Council will be carrying out remedial works along Footpath 1 (Brook Path) between Fore Street and Slittercombe Lane during August 2024.
In March 2024, DCC completed work on a new, larger culvert in Kenton to help reduce the risk of flooding in the area.
More details about the project can be found here.
This is a link to the Section 19 Flood Investigation Report produced by Devon County Council for the 17th September 2023 Floods.
The purpose of this report is to document the flood event as it happened, in addition to setting out recommended actions. The report is to act as a tool for all the relevant Risk Management Authorities to understand and appreciate the extent of flooding in their area and to consider and prioritise those actions relevant to their authority.
